Our founder, Johnny Y. Fong, M.D., is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He specialized in pediatrics at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He has been in private practice in California since 1977.
In 2002, he established the San Beda College of Medicine in consortium with San Beda College. And in 2004, he established the San Beda College of Nursing, offering the traditional four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing. San Beda Nursing is now ranked 3rd in the country in its category, has an 88% passing rate in the Philippine Nursing Boards, and has a topnotcher in the top 10.
The educators at St. Ignatius Health Science College intend to surpass all these academic records. It is run by a motivated and innovative team of board of directors and academic advisers. Its mission-vision is for the Filipino people to have a prominent niche in the global medical and nursing community.
